KOU put together two 10-man teams for Eye of Eternity on Wednesday, 2/8/2009, intending to take the dragon out twice in two attempts. We funded flasks for all, and our generous raiders helped out with Fish Feasts, extensive practice on Aces High!, and overall enthusiasm.

Our early evening Maly group eked out a one-shot by bringing him down in 9:50, 10 seconds shy of the enrage timer. We lost a warlock early on, but a timely b-rez brought him right back up. We lost the hunter in Phase 3 but the other 9 steadily damaged the dragon right up to the end.

Stunning job on healing by Janril, Morganholt (new to Maly), and Kyuushi, and a tremendous tanking job by our bear. Chogron hadn't done Maly before, and one-shotting it may have him thinking that Maly is easy... ;-)

The DPS team really shined on Phase 2, which began and ended almost before anyone could blink.

Now for the bad news.... almost the entire late-night Maly team ended up getting saved to the first team's Maly. The new raid formed just before 9 server, invited Kyu in to hand out flasks (not as leader or assist, mind you, nor was Kyu leader in the previous raid). When everyone except Kyu zoned in to EOE -- the message came, "You are now saved."

A flurry of officer messages and hours of waiting for GM responses later, the answer came from a GM who was adamant that it would only have happened in a raid leader situation. Nothing to do but to try again later. The fix for accidental raid saves is LONG overdue and 3.1 can't come soon enough.

Ten of KOU's progression raiders dropped Kel'Thuzad last night after a couple of tries. With a lot of melee, we had to do some careful positioning to keep the frost damage down; after practicing our setup in Sapphiron's room to make sure that everyone was in range of our healers, we moved in, cleared the first wave, and Posolutely engaged KT. Our off-tank for the evening, Serakheru, DPSed at range until the adds spawned, while Boon, Janril, and Karika kept fantastic heals pouring in.

Neshura and Kyuushi huddled around K's wonderful mana totem and pot-shotted at KT from 25 yards, while Bambataa, Sorakos, and Shortwinded got in some stabby-stabby up close and helped Posolutely with interrupts.

KT dropped a 2H axe, a wand, and a T7 helm token.
